POLICE BEAT: iPhone Snatches Continue

Jan. 5...2:29 p.m.
A woman was exiting Starbucks with a tray of coffee, when a man bumped into her and stole the iPhone from her coat pocket.
217 BROADWAY
JAN. 4...5:30 p.m.
Thieves broke into a locker at the New York Sports Club and made off with a man’s wallet, watch, sweater and shirt.
1 CHURCH
Jan. 3...9 p.m.
A woman was walking north on Church Street looking at her iPhone, when a thief snatched it from her hand and ran off.
132 NASSAU
Jan. 3...4:45 a.m.
A livery driver, who had been sleeping in his car, called police after he was awakened by a loud noise and saw two men exiting Omega Jewelry. The men were wearing dark hooded jackets and holding black bags. The driver told police a third man may have been waiting for them. The thieves had cut the front gate and smashed several cases, making off with gold and silver jewelry, the store owner later told the Trib.

A pickpocket stole a wallet from the coat of a diner at Cosi.

It was a bad end to the year for one New Year’s reveler, when a thief reached into her handbag while she was dancing and made off with a $600 camera.
