A 37-year-old woman forgot her backpack on a bench in the subway station. When she returned to the station minutes later, the backpack, which contained a $200 iPhone, an American Express card, a driver’s license and a $15 MetroCard, was gone.

A thief stole $880 worth of items—including a Gucci wallet, iPhone, several credit cards, a driver’s license and $180 in cash—from a man's unlocked Equinox gym locker while he was working out.

A man used such force to rip a purse from a woman that he fell to the ground. The contents of the bag spilled onto the ground, and the man fled, empty-handed, in a 2009 Hyundai down Front Street.

A thief took a driver’s backpack containing credit cards, a debit card and $270 from his car as he was delivering beer to Manhattan Beer Distributors.
West and Canal
July 6, 1:26 p.m.
A 26-year-old man who was driving on West Street was arrested for attempted assault of a traffic agent. The man disobeyed the agent’s orders to avoid making a right-hand turn onto Canal Street, which was blocked by cones, and nearly struck the agent when he accelerated. Police found razors in the man’s possession when corralling him at Canal and Washington streets.

Two teens—one 17, the other, 15—were arrested for stealing a Citi Bike valued at $1,200.
South and Dover
July 7, 3:30 a.m.
While walking toward his car after a night out at the South Street Seaport, a 41-year-old man was approached by a male who ripped his shirt off of him, stole his $1,500 diamond-chain cross and drove off in his 2003 Mercedes Benz, valued at $12,000. (The man’s keys had fallen to the ground during the altercation.) The victim, who couldn’t describe the perpetrator, said the stranger fled by car westbound on South Street. Inside the man’s car was a prepaid cell phone worth $300.
