Report: Merge Cars, Peds to Fix FiDi Congestion

A study commissioned by the Financial District Neighborhood Association calls for pedestrians and vehicles to share streets as a way to solve sidewalk congestion, increase bike and pedestrian safety and solve garbage collection problems along many of the narrow streets of the Financial District. Called Slow Streets, the proposal is modeled after pedestrian-vehicle street sharing in cities such as Amsterdam, Copenhagen and Bonn.
