A construction worker was seriously injured Thursday morning after falling from scaffolding at 28 Hubert Street in Tribeca. A Fire Department source said the unidentified worker dislocated his shoulder and suffered a head injury after falling eight to 10 feet. Medics treated the worker on top of a sidewalk bridge outside the building before firefighters lowered him in the Ladder 1 bucket and placed him on an ambulance stretcher. He was taken to Bellevue Hospital.

A Fire Department spokesman said the mans injuries in the accident, which occured around 8:30 a.m., were serious but not life threatening.

“He’ll be alright,” said a man who answered the phone at Bulado General Contracting, the firm in charge of facade restoration on the building. He declined to give the worker’s name or provide further information.

A Department of Buildings spokesman said no violations were found at the site and an investigation is ongoing.
