In honor of February's Black History Month, the Brookfield Place lunchtime concert series, "Voices of Freedom," is featuring musicians from New York City's jazz scene.

The noonday series, which takes place each Wednesday, is showcasing works composed by jazz pianist, composer and radio host Marian McPartland, who died last August at age 95.

Musicians in the series include Willerm Delisfort on piano and Jason Marshall, baritone saxophone (2/5); trombonist Steve Turre accompanied by pianist George Cables (2/12); Aruán Ortiz and John Beasley on piano with percussionist Adam Rudolph (2/19); and pianist Osmany Paredes with bassist Jennifer Vincent (2/26).

The free concerts take place at 12:30 p.m. at the Winter Garden, 220 Vesey St. For more information, go to brookfieldplaceny.com/VoicesOfFreedom.
