'Suspicious Package' Found on Bus Contained Just Shoes

Cops cordoned off two blocks of Church Street Monday morning to investigate a suspicious package found on a city bus. Worth and Thomas Streets, between Church and Broadway, were also temporarily blocked off to cars and pedestrians as the bomb squad inspected an unattended shopping bag.

One frantic mother broke through a police line and ran past the bus and a suited bomb squad officer to get to her child at the nursery school, Buckle My Shoe.

Firefighters began clearing the scene at 10:45, after the authorities discovered that the bag contained a sequined, red pair of Juicy Couture shoes.
