March 19, 3 p.m.

After buying coffee at Starbucks, a Turkish tourist placed her wallet in her purse, leaving it unzipped. Five minutes later, she looked inside her purse and discovered that the wallet, which contained $500, $250 worth of Turkish currency, three bank cards and Turkish and Canadian driver’s licenses was gone. The woman received text messages from her bank notifying her that two fraudulent purchases had been made on the cards: one at Abercrombie & Fitch, 199 Water St., totaling $664.98, and another at Duane Reade, 205 Water St., for $84.05. One of the cards was recovered at Duane Reade.

March 18, noon

A 64-year-old woman put her handbag on the back of her chair while eating with a friend at Long Island Bagel Café. The woman went to the restroom, and when she returned, the bag was gone. Her friend, who had remained at the table, did not notice anyone taking the bag, though the café’s video footage showed a man removing it. The bag contained keys and a wallet with $150, three bank cards and an Iowa driver’s license. Someone attempted to make a MetroCard purchase with one of the cards, but the bank’s fraud department stopped the transaction.

March 17, 7:20 p.m.

A thief made off with a bag that a 34-year-old man had hung on his stool at The Full Shilling bar. The victim lost a $900 Dell laptop, a $100 hard drive, an Indian passport and a Green Card.

March 13, 6:15 p.m.

A 28-year-old man who works on William Street was arguing with two 15-year-old  acquaintances, when the boys punched him in the face, took his bicycle and fled. The victim received medical attention for bruising and pain.

Both teens, one who lives on William Street and the other on Roosevelt Island, were arrested. Their case is being handled by Family Court.

March 12, 6 p.m.

A man snatched two iPhones, worth a total of $1,400, from the shelf of an AT&T store and fled.

150 Broadway
March 11, 4:30 p.m.

Three men, carrying bags, entered Modell’s and went straight to the women’s apparel section. As they walked out of the store, an employee discovered that a rack of women's Nike clothing valued at $1,230 had been stolen. The employee also found security tags on the floor that belonged to the items.

March 6, 11:15 p.m.

A man was sitting at the bar speaking to another man when a thief stole his backpack that he had put on the floor next to him. The backpack contained a MacBook Pro, an Apple mouse and two architecture and building construction textbooks, worth a total of $2,893.

The alleged thief, Jose Cardona, 45, was arrested and charged with grand larceny in the fourth degree and criminal possession of stolen property in the fourth degree, according to the Manhattan District Attorney's office.
