The clothing chain H&M announced on Wednesday that it will be opening a store at 4 World Trade Center. The 25,000 square-foot store, with its own entrance on the building’s ground floor, will be the largest of the clothing retailers to lease space in the building, according to a company spokeswoman.

The two-level store is expected to open next spring, the company said in a statement.

The company, Hennes & Mauritz AB, said its store, one of more than 3,800 worldwide and the only one in Lower Manhattan, will “operate on renewable power sources and will use less electricity than a conventional office building” and incorporate recycled material throughout the store.

The news came on the same day that an unnamed supermarket was confirmed to be slated for the building.
