Ice Skating and More on Governors Island

Governors Island Winter Village at historic Colonel's Row is open through February with attractions and activities, including ice skating on the Village’s 5,000-square-foot rink. There are lawn games such as cornhole, can jam and giant Jenga, plus warming fire pits, sled and bike rentals, and food carts. The rink is open through Jan. 2, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. to coincide with the public schools’ winter recess. Beginning the week of Jan. 3, the rink is open from 12 to 5 p.m. on Fridays and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays. Free admission on Fridays, $11 on other days. Skate rental is $8.
