The history of 16 lesser-recognized, but no less fascinating, Lower Manhattan landmarks are spotlighted in a 16-page PDF free for the downloading from the Historic Districts Council. Among them the 1793 Mother Seton Shrine, the Cunard Building and a Federal-era, three-and-a-half story brick house that survives at 94 Greenwich Street. “Lower West Side,” no longer available in print, can be downloaded here.

It is one of a series of guides to historic New York City neighborhoods offered by the Council.
