Friends of Washington Market Park want to better serve the people who use the popular Tribeca green space, and its nearby basketball and tennis courts. And they'd like your thoughts on how to do that.

The volunteer board, which oversees the park and organizes its programs, is conducting a survey, developed by graduate students in Hunter College's Urban Studies Program, "to better understand who is using Washington Market Park and what programs and offerings the community would like to see," according to Erica Martini, co-president of the park group.

The Hunter students began the study in September, Martini said, by observing how adults and children use the park. The next phase of the study is a five-to-10 minute online survey that they hope will reveal the types improvements that could be made to the park and to its programs.

"While the board realizes the park can't be all things to all people," Martini said, "we’d like to try."
