Governors Island Stays Open to 10 pm on June 23

In celebration of the Summer Solstice, Governors Island will stay open until 10 pm on Friday, June 23. The short ferry ride from Lower Manhattan takes you to a 172-acre island with hammacks, rolling hills, dramatic views of Manhattan and a fort built in 1808.

Food and beverage are available for purchase from vendors; there is also plenty of grass for picnics.

Evening hour ferry schedule:

Ferries depart from the Battery Maritime Building, 10 South Street at:
5:30 pm, 6:30 pm, 7:30 pm, 8:30 pm (last ferry to Governors Island)

Ferries depart Governors Island for Lower Manhattan:
7:00 pm, 8:00 pm, 9:00 pm and 10:00 pm (last ferry to Manhattan)

Round trip ferry tickets: $2, $1 for seniors and free for children under 13 and those with IDNYC cards
