Down Town Glee Club Seeks Male Singers

The Down Town Glee Club, a male chorale founded more than 90 years ago, is searching for singers in all voice parts, to supplement their ranks for the annual Spring Concert, held on Thursday, May 9 at 7:30 p.m.

The concert,  Lost in the Stars,  will celebrate the 50th anniversary of the lunar landing and America’s “giant leap” into space exploration. The program will include “Fly Me to the Moon,” “Lost in the Stars,” “Moon River,” “Stella by Starlight,” “Blue Moon,” “Moonglow,” and “Moonlight Serenade,” as well as Elton John’s “Rocket Man” and David Bowie's  “Space Oddity.”

Candidates are not required to read music or have prior choral or choir experience. Rehearsals are held at 49 Fulton Street (St. Margaret’s House) on Tuesdays from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. For additional information or to arrange an audition, call or text Jerry at 516-435-7817 or email osterbergg@aol.com.
