Community Board Applications Now Open

Applications to serve are now being accepted by Manhattan Borough President Mark Levine’s office through March 17, 2023. “Community Boards provide Manhattanites with an opportunity to participate in local democracy and decision making, helping to shape the future of the borough as we navigate a range of challenges and opportunities” Levine said in a statement. “Community Boards touch every aspect of life in NYC, from parks, sanitation, and education, to land use, health, and more. While Community Boards are independent, my office relies on them to be the voice of local concerns and keep their finger on the pulse of community issues.”

Board members are appointed to two-year terms by the Manhattan Borough President, with half selected solely by the Borough President and half nominated by the City Council members representing each Community Board district.

The online application form can be accessed by clicking here. More information on the work of community board members can be found here. Applications must be complete and submitted by 5:00 pm on March 17, 2023.

Selected applicants will be announced in April.
