"The Cell" One Act Play by Seamus Scanlon
Anna Nugent and Paul Nugent in "The Long Wet Grass"
The award-winning play, The Long Wet Grass, by Seamus Scanlon, Librarian at City College's Center for Worker Education, will be presented at the Center for Worker Education on March 2. The Cell Theater's production stars Paul Nugent and Anna Nugent and is directed by Brian Reager.
Afterwards, there will be a panel discussion on violence in Northern Ireland and elsewhere. This is part of CWE's Seminar on Human Rights led by Dr. Danielle Zach, Acting Director of Human Rights Studies at City College and Frances S. Patai Postdoctoral Fellow at the Center for Worker Education.
The Long Wet Grass is part of The McGowan Trilogy which won awards for Best Actress, Best Director and Best Production in the annual Origin's 1st Irish Festival of New Plays in New York in 2014. The Cell Theater's production sold out for 20 shows and sold out in the UK in July 2015 at the Kino-Teatr. For information see www.thecelltheatre.org
