Art Exhibition: Daniel A. Bruce at Cannon's Walk
"Red sky at night, Sailors delight. Red sky at morning, Sailors take warning." This phrase was once a commonly held belief by sailors and therefore a well-matched title for this public indoor space which also marks the site of John Cannon's Early 18th Century Warf.
For Cannon's Walk, artist Daniel A. Bruce has chosen to explore folk beliefs such as superstition and myth while also reflecting on commonplace collectibles that we usually keep for both sentimentality and novelty. This site-specific and viewer-participatory installation of works was designed to motivate curiosity and entertain.
