A bar patron was arrested at the Raccoon Lodge, 59 Warren St., after repeatedly punching another customer and choking him, then resisting arrest, according to police.

The victim, a 32-year-old Brooklyn resident, said he experienced pain and swelling on the left side of his face and became light-headed and short of breath during the attack, in which Ryan Grissett, 32, is accused of punching the victim up to eight times and wrapping both hands around his neck.

The incident occurred on Aug. 16 at 8 p.m.

Police said Grissett resisted arrest, refusing to put his hands behind his back. He also spit at an arresting officer and attempted to bite his finger, according to the Manhattan District Attorney's office.

Grissett was charged with assault, "criminal obstruction of breathing and blood circulation," resisting arrest, and harassment, the DA's office reported.
