Six men walked up to a 13-year-old boy, punched him in the eye and stole his bicycle, valued at $300.

After getting into an argument in a restaurant, one man followed the other out onto the street, grabbed a beer bottle from a garbage can, broke it, and used it to attack the victim, slashing him across his stomach.

After a disagreement over a cab fare, a passenger opened the door of a taxi and punched the driver, taking $16 from the front seat before fleeing. Police arrested the attacker.

A thief cut through the chain securing a bicycle in front of the building and stole a 20-year-old Mercier 10-speed valued at $1,200.

Two New York City Parks Department bicycles were stolen. The three-month-old Trek cycles were valued at $1,600.

A woman’s laptop computer was stolen from a restaurant. The IBM Thinkpad was worth $2,500.

A man parked his bicycle in front of the playground to play basketball, leaving a bag hanging on the bicycle. When he returned two hours later, the bag was gone. It contained $75 in cash, credit cards and identification, and an iPod, for a total value of $421.

A cell phone and a wallet with credit cards, identification, and $20 in cash were taken from a man’s locked locker at Borough of Manhattan Community College.

An Apple computer valued at $1,500 was stolen from inside the building.

A man dropped off his luggage at the Embassy Suites Hotel after checking in, then left to get some food. On his return, one of his bags was missing. A review of the security video showed a man had followed the bellhop and taken the bag when it was unattended. The bag contained passports, drivers licenses and $2,750 in camera equipment.

8/13...1:30 p.m.
A 16-year-old from Illinois had a cell-phone, watch and $80 in cash grabbed from his hand by a man who ran north on West Broadway towards Grand Street. Police followed the man but were unable to locate him.

A 16-year-old from Farmingdale, L.I., reported that a man walked up to him offering a fake ID for $100. When the teen refused, the suspect pushed him against a nearby wall, simulating a knife underneath his sweatshirt and demanding his belongings. The robber ran off with $10 in cash and a cell phone valued at $50.

A store manager reported that one of his employees had stolen between $1,500 and $3,000 in merchandise and cash over the past four months.

Police arrested a 27-year-old man after store detectives detained him for shoplifting $29.16 worth of children’s Tylenol.

A gym patron reported that his wallet, containing credit cards and $180, had been taken from an unlocked locker. Police arrested a 35-year-old man in connection with the theft.

Three men arrived at the loading dock in a flatbed truck and showed fraudulent paperwork to the supervisor before driving off with two scissor lifts, each valued at $16,130.
