To: Members of the Tribeca Community:

My name is Fraya Berg and I would like to introduce myself to you as the current President of the Washington Market Community Park Board of Directors. Many of you may know me as “The Ladybug Lady”. As a board member, I have worked tirelessly for the past 4 years to coordinate events in the park, see the playground construction through to completion and worked with the Dept. of Parks and Recreation to keep new the playground safe.

I have lived in Tribeca for 10 years and am the mother of a 7 year-old who uses the park on a frequent basis. I maintain a garden plot here and feel that as a park user I am as involved as anyone could be.

My motivation for running for the park board again is two fold: I want to see the city and the Parks Dept. commit to building a bathroom in the park, and I want to see a solid plan for maintaining the park at the level we are accustomed to. This is a crucial time for the park, and we need experienced board members to maintain a sense of continuity in the park.
