FEST 3: A Mega Street Fair

Thousands swarmed Greenwich Street on May 8 to soak up the circus-like atmosphere of the Tribeca Film Festival street fair. Now an annual neighborhood celebration in its third year, this was the biggest fair yet, with perfor-

mances of local talent on the street and stage, and not so local attractions such as the giraffe, zebra, and lion and leopard cubs from South Africa that were a huge draw on Harrison Street. Puppets, clowns, carousals and story telling tents were tucked onto side streets, as the sidewalks on Greenwich were filled with booths of local merchants. Once again, the fair was unique for its sheer size and variety of performers.

Even more impressive, there wasn’t a sausage vendor in sight.
