| T.O.A.S.T.:
Tribeca's Great Art Walk Tribeca artists will open their studios and homes to the public this month, offering a peak at their works and their working environments. The Tribeca Open Arts Studio Tour is set for Saturday, April 24, through Monday, April 26, from 1 to 6 p.m. This year's tour will have a record number of 107 artists participating. The annual self-guided tour is a chance for the public to view, purchase or gain greater insight into the works through conversations with the artists. "You work in a vacuum a lot of the time, and all of a sudden you have upwards of 1,000 people traipsing into your studio over the weekend looking at your work. It's very energizing," said Regina Silvers, an artist and one of the event's organizers. Beginning April 10, participating artists' works will be featured in a slide show in a window display at New York Law School. The slides will continue after April 17 at Franklin Station Cafe, 222 West Broadway. Tour admission is free. Artists and galleries often serve refreshments. Maps of the tour route can be downloaded from www.toastartwalk.com or picked up at participating restaurants and galleries. General information is available at 212-479-7323.
